I know what you're thinking, "the life of a touring musician is full of endless booze, party-time all the time and non-stop fun" - really who wouldn't want to tour the world and play music? Well, herein lies the problem. We all tend to think that this lifestyle is something that it really is not. You simply wouldn't believe how arduous the road can be, both physically and mentally, it can take a toll.
My guest today, Kathryn Hummel sees that lifestyle from many perspectives. As the fearless leader of Royalty Records, a national record label as well as her own artist management label: Hummel Entertainment, she wears the industry cap strong. In her seemingly limited spare time, another way Kathryn stays involved in the scene is through her contribution of health and wellness articles to the Unison Benevolent Fund blog on things we as artists can be doing to battle through the demands of the lifestyle. She leads by example, stressing the importance of connecting self-care and professionalism in the industry.
