It's Official! 🎉
I'm back in the game... let's train! 💪 🏋️♀️ 🏃♀️
One of the keys to connection is movement…
I’ve been noticing how my performance has lacked my typical killer instinct as of late… It started almost a year ago when I was visiting Australia and exploring the movement patterns of the Olympic Lifts (that I used to absolutely crush). I noticed them giving me extreme difficulty… which led me to think about it more…
My body had been unexplainably sore for months…
I consistently sat at my workstation, producing podcasts and music while staring at a screen for up to 8 hours daily…
My sleep had been inconsistent and my hydration too…
Two years ago I would have seen this version of myself and labelled me my ideal Personal Training client… sedentary, stressed and out of alignment in multiple ways.
I knew something had to change from within.
Flash forward to the time of writing this… I’m sitting outside Purple Perk with Darwin in Calgary, Alberta overwhelmed with pride looking at the fresh, new Professional (Re) Certification I received from the American Council on Exercise.
For a long time, (like 15 years long time…) I was the guy who would encourage others to do the big, scary thing they were putting off. This (re) cert was my big, scary thing. I had put this off for years, part jaded from the industry post-pandemic as many of us were… part scarcity mindset, thinking I could earn income in other ways without paying for professional certification (ie: podcast production, music creation… etc).
And.. Truth be told, part of it was just laziness. Ever been there?
I came to though and here’s why I decided to pull the trigger and get back in the game.
My fitness professionalism means more than a silly piece of paper that tells others I’m legit…
It’s a certain level of gravitas.
It’s a certain level of professionalism.
It’s a statement to myself that says, “ I can do hard things.” “I lead others when I am leading myself.”
(And believe me, challenging a Professional Certification exam after taking my last exam 4 years ago is… challenging… hahaha... I crushed it though)
That said… Let’s get this show on the road.
I’m excited to add Functional Movement back into my practice, and I need your help. I want to test two of the training programs I used to use.
I am offering a 6-week Kickstarter for those of you interested in moving better and helping me out with some “this or that” kinda decisions when it comes to tools and formats… now, I’m offering it as a remote training offer, meaning we can work together regardless of your physical location provided you have access to the internet…and for those of you in the Calgary area, even better news. 🎉
Social support is a proven game-changer for behavioural change, so I’m pleased to announce that I am including group training sessions as part of my community pillar of wellness.
If this sounds like a good fit and you’d like to learn more, please click the button to book a time to chat. Reach out. I want to help you discover what functional movement can do to better your life without compromise. Space is tight. I am only looking for 6 people to start. First come, first served. 👊 🎯
Thanks for your love and support, fam. Let’s train!
