What if everything you thought you knew was wrong...?
It's humbling as all hell to consider you could be wrong...
Alright, waayyyyy back a few weeks now we talked about treating everyone equally. That’s cool, right? One of the simplest ways to do that is to consider this…realize that everything you thought you knew is indeed, incorrect.
What??!! I know, ludicrous
Let me explain…
Challenge your beliefs
If you completed that exercise and felt any differently at all between the steps, you’ve already done this. One of the keys to connection in the “ABCs of Creating Connection” is the ability to break patterns. When you can take yourself out of the story for just a moment, you experience what we know as perspective.
On the other hand, if you’re so set in your ways and unwilling to consider another possible way, point of view, or reality… I can guarantee your disappointment from the moment someone enters your world with alternative experiences, thoughts or reality that challenge your beliefs. Good luck dealing with that shit. It’s everywhere. Be open. Open hands, open hearts, open minds.
A key practice I show all my clients is the art of breathing. The next time you feel an emotional charge when you are met with something that challenges your beliefs before you start spitting fire back at the other person, take a breath.
Breathing low and slow through your nose and deep into your belly will put your body back into a relaxed state. It takes 30 seconds, saves relationships and shows you how much more in control you are than you thought.
Tune in on Monday for our last installment on connection. I also have some very exciting news regarding my Waitlist for Music Fit Collective… 🤫
